THE MULTI CULTURAL RAP EXPERIMENT

AUSTRALIAN underground HIP HOP artist and controversial film maker ‘xiahbu’ is back with something new..

“I’ve Always been a fan of Filipino rap. The language is so cool… its like machine gun fire when the Tagalog language cuts the track..”

Xiahbu says

“After living in the Philippines for half a year I learned that Filipinos are mega talented at music, and heavily influenced by American Rap… mainly TUPAC and BONE THUGS AND HARMONY..

The Tagalog dialect when rapped fast enough sounds similar to Bizzy Bone

‘Sometimes after clubbing, we’d be in the city, and I see Chico walking around at like 4 in the morning… drinking and smoking.’

‘Chico would school me on new hip hop i should know about… ‘

‘One day CHICO gives me a CD, a mixtape he made with his brother Thahib, and little P. DABS.

IT WAS FUCKING DOPE ! A 6 track mix with raw as fuck lyrical skills over jacked beats.. At the time I couldn’t even understand how they did it…

The above video shows Chico’s rap skills… Undoubted king…2007

‘CHICOS CD would’nt leave my car for a long time… haha.. I didn’t even like Aussie Hip hop, but I guess Chico’s ‘New York’ influence over the tracks made it Dope as fuck.. ‘

‘Cocaine Cowboys (above) was filmed in 2009 and is featured on the SMILING ASSASSINS MIXTAPE.

in the lab..

“So In 2008 I was jacking loops and downloading the usual instrumentals…”

“Then after a year of jacking beats I couldn’t find anymore beats I liked.”

“I walked into a music store one day and saw the MPC for the first time. I was in awe. I was hardcore into the bizz and my pockets were phat so I fronted up the 2800$ and bought it .. this was 2009.”

“Chico pushed me to buy it, telling me all the BEST producers I loved like RZA and PETE ROCK used IT.. SO I had to do it there was no other way to get to the next level..”

BRING IT ON

let the dogs bark , the lion is king.

In 2019, music videos can still be the most powerful way for an artist to introduce us to their creative world, unveil a new aesthetic, or offer an emotional short story. This year saw true heads like XIAHBU astound with their ambitious visions, making bold political statements and banging beats. This beautifully shot and acted mini-movie will not disappoint.  These bursts of sound and image are readily accessible, mercifully brief, and, at their best, a lot more fulfilling than mindlessly scrolling through Instagram.

BACK FROM THE TRAP

AFTER 3 1/2 YEARS INCARCERATED

C-REKS IS BACK ! AND ‘H.B’ (HOME BREW) IS ONCE AGAIN REUNITED!

So i met C.REKS in 2012. I was living in a share house in New Farm. My room was tiny, but the location was central so i was ok with the living situation. My room mates included 3 Korean students, 2 Japanese students, and a fella from Iraq.

At the time i was flying low under the radar, making beats and slinging treats .

So one day my cousin ‘IDROE’ wants to meet up.. Tells me he’s with his homie C-REKS a rapper from the South Side. I said ‘sweet, lets meet up’.

So IDROE and C.REKS rock up to the Valley and we came back to my little studio in New Farm. IDROE left early but C.REKS stayed till around 12pm. I remember we were getting loose and listening to beats and then he cruised into the night……

That would be the last time I’d see him for 6 years.

C.Reks and Noonie at Eatons Hill 2018

After his 3 year bid in a Brisbane correctional facility, C-REKS was transported to the infamous Christmas Island Detention centre...

His future was uncertain..

And then a mircale happened.

The case was thrown out!

Come 2017, I get a phone  call from IDROE saying C.REKS is coming back !  I was like ‘SWEET AS’ lets murder these faggot mc’s that have been plaguing the scene.

(HOME BREW PLAYLIST ABOVE)

First day in the studio we recorded 3 songs . “once again”, “the rising” and “the illest”. 3 classics ..

The next time we linked up, we produced the street anthem “FRIENDS OF MINE”. The beat i actually produced in that share house in 2012, it was inevitable that C-Reks would add the bars. Stay tuned for some bangers dropping soon.

this was the small room in the share house where i first jammed with C-REKS.. In the picture we see Dj Cuttin Ajent and Upwrite.  Cutting Ajent helped mould the ‘Friends of Mine’ beat and has helped add scratches on countless instrumentals.

Because of XIAHBU – listen to it here !!! Banned Version !

This song has been banned from everywhere …. but HERE! it is going to stay from now on!!!!! . Free for everyone. Warning R18+++++++++++++++++++++++

It is far from my favorite song but definitely one of my most emo..

When i recorded this song i had just broken up with this stunning half Viet/Euro chick. We were using at the time, and well, i was torn apart…. hardcore. i was fucked on drugs big time. Shes a fuckwit to this day.

I heard the Joe Budden’s remix to Neyo’s ‘because of you’ and i thought i can do better, and i did.

Dj Downer was a crack dealer ex mate of mine (he was always down, moping around) He just happened to be there during the first recording. Just me and him as i recall. Before i busted the verse i looked at Dj Downer and gave him the nod.

little did i know this song was going to be HUGE!

…. I recorded the first verse and exported it.

We pumped that song with just one verse for a couple of weeks… then…

i thought id better add another verse like Joe Budden did.

… The second verse is from the heart hardcore.. and the outro .. well i was emotionally fucked… FUCKING S%UT.

So theyve taken this song off YOUTUBE and others.. yesterday i discovered it had been removed from sound cloud without my knowledge or any warning.. so here it is ! BECAUSE OF XIAHBU. FUCKING S%UT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

flat earth theory

The Flat Earth model is a belief that the Earth’s shape is a plane or disk. Many ancient cultures have had conceptions of a flat Earth, including Greece. It was also typically held in the aboriginal cultures of the Americas. They believed in a flat Earth domed by the firmament in the shape of an inverted bowl. A lot of people today, believe that the Earth is round but they’ve never seen it from a distance. Not even being on an airplane could reveal the true shape to someone who doesn’t know. Being on top of the highest mountain wouldn’t help either. Is NASA and it’s friends lying to us about the world? Keep an open mind. There’s no good reason to doubt it.
